• Caring for Your Synthetic Wig is Easy One of the greatest benefits of synthetic wigs is the fact they require very little maintenance and do not have to be restyled after every wash. Also, synthetic wigs don't react to bad weather like human hair, making them the perfect solution for humid or rainy days. Follow these simple rules for how to care for your synthetic wigs, find out which products to use, and say "goodbye" to bad hair days! Synthetic wigs are plastic, so hot irons can melt them or do some damage. Here's a method to get curly wigs silky straight. Remember, if it's not straight enough the first time, you can repeat the process. Take care when combing, use a wide tooth comb and work your way down to a smaller one if necessary because wigs don't grow back if you pull the hair out. First Detangle Gently remove tangles using a wide tooth comb, working gradually from the ends to the base. Use combs specifically designed for synthetic wigs or rubber-tipped brushes to prevent fibers from splitting. Wash Using a little mild shampoo in cold water to wash. Fill your sink with enough cool water to submerge your wig. Mix in a small amount of Shampoo for synthetic hair. Soak your wig for 3-5 minutes. Gently swirl without rubbing. Rinse Rinse with cool water to remove shampoo. Gently press with a towel to remove excess water. DO NOT RUB OR WRING. Dry & Condition Place on a folding wig stand, spray with a Leave-in Conditioner, and allow to air dry. Never place a wet wig on a mannequin or Styrofoam head to avoid stretching the cap. DO NOT WRING OR SQUEEZE. Shake the wig after it is 90% dry, spray hair gel and shape the wig with your hands.
• 8 Care Tips You Should Know ?Have two wigs ready to wear at all times. This way when you are washing one wig, you have a ready to go back up. Plus, rotating between wigs also helps to extend the life. ?Wash your synthetic wig after every 10 to 15 wearings. The exact number of times you should wash your wig really depends on several factors. For example, if you tend to use a lot of hair products, like mousse or hairspray, then you will probably have to wash the wig more often. In addition, if you perspire a lot your wig may accumulate scalp oils more quickly, which will require you to wash the wig more frequently. Every time a wig is washed, its condition will decrease. Avoid using too many hair products so that it won't have to be washed as often. ?Always use synthetic-safe products to wash and style your wig to keep the fiber vibrant and looking it's best. Do not try using regular human hair products on your wig. Even mild products can damage the wig and dull the fibers. ?When washing, pay special attention to the area around the face which may accumulate dirt, oil, and makeup. ?To avoid stretching the cap; never place a wet wig on a mannequin or Styrofoam head. A folding wig stands or tall can of hairspray make the best drying platforms. ?Never use hot water on synthetic hair, as it may loosen the wefts and cause damage to the fiber. ?Never twist or rub your wig vigorously while washing or drying. ?Regular hair spray should also be avoided because it can damage the wig and cause the fibers of the wig to deteriorate. ?Keep your synthetic wig away from any heat source, including standard hair dryers, curling irons, wood fires, ovens, spas, etc. to avoid causing irreparable damage to the fiber.
